FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

According to noted G&L researcher Gabe Dellevigne, the G&L SC-2 was introduced in September 1982 prior to the introduction of the other economy models in the SC and HG series. The SC-2 was G&L's first guitar model with two single coil pickups. Like the other SC-series models, the SC-2 was available with a hardtail. Most SC-2s were fitted with vibrato tailpieces making the hardtail version more uncommon. These early SC guitars had non-contoured (slab) bodies that were quite reminiscent of the 1964-68 Fender Mustang/Duo-Sonic/Musicmaster. The early style SC-series guitars and basses were offered in black, white, red and Viking Blue. There is some confusion with the true name of this color blue. A former G&L worker claims this light blue is actually Bahama Blue and that Viking Blue is very dark (almost black) which seems to make sense.
