FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The X-79 Skyhawk was introduced in 1982 as part of a new series of electric guitars aimed at hard rock guitarists. An insanely good review of this model by fellow Guild enthusiast, Gary Donahue, can be found at GAD.net and is highly recommended reading. This particular version of the X-79 would likely be overlooked by most heavy metal guitarists because it lacks a vibrato tailpiece though a Kahler vibrato was optional.
