FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The Studio series include lesser known models from Guild that were made from 1968 to 1972. They were marketed as student models which is a nice way of saying "economy" model, yet their features are no different than other models made by Guild at the time. In that regard, the Studio 301 (single pickup) and 302 (dual pickup) are very similar to the T-100 and T-100D, except having double cutaways. The ST-301 and 302 usually were fitted with Guild's "Mickey Mouse" single coil pickups while the ST-302 and deep body ST-304 had Guild humbucking pickups. Despite its diminutive name, the single coil pickup in this guitar is high out and typically has DC resistance of 8.5K ohms. It produces bright, bell tones and works as well for rock as it does for jazz (with the tone rolled back).
