FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The SC series was put on hiatus for a short time in 1984 at the pleading of the G&L sales force to make the guitars look more “traditional.” The SC-1 was dropped and the SC-2 and SC-3 were put back into production using a Stratocaster body style. The SC-2 shown here has this later body style. These later models were also fitted with better quality, sealed tuning machines, and have fret markers that are smaller with different spacing at the 12th fret compared with the early version. The second style SC-2 was offered as a hardtail or with a vibrato tailpiece. It only remained in production for another year or so after its facelift and gave way to the next generation of 2-pickup G&L guitars... the Broadcaster and ASAT.
