FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

The L-2000 shown here was made before BBE had stopped using Leo Fender’s signature in mid-1992 in order to avoid a law suit by Fender Musical Instrument Corporation, yet the bulk of L-2000 Signature production took place in 1992. After the BBE takeover of the company, all G&L guitar and bass necks were given a semi-gloss finish until mid-1992 and satin finish necks thereafter. Note, too, that the tuning posts were changed from polished aluminum to satin finished aluminum and the preamp circuit was changed around this time. The changed preamp circuit board is silk screened with "Ver. 1.0".
