FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The first Jaguar that Fender reissued was the '62 Jaguar that was made in Japan in the 1980s and 1990s. The first American-made '62 Jaguar reissue was introduced in 1999 as part of the American Vintage series. As with most vintage reissues, it's not all that accurate. The most glaring flaw is the dot fretmarkers are micarta instead of "clay" dots and the narrow dot spacing at the 12th fret is incorrect. Nevertheless, the guitar plays very well and the American Vintage pickups nail the Jaguar tone.
