FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

The G&L Invader was G&L’s first “Superstrat” style guitar introduced in 1984. During the 1980s, “Superstrat” models were extremely popular for hard rock and heavy metal. These guitars were characterized by a full floating vibrato system with fine tuners (usually Floyd Rose or Kahler), a locking nut to improve tuning stability, and single coil/single coil/humbucker pickup complement. The Invader’s mini toggle switches allowed the player to choose any pickup combination, however the model was not as popular as it could have been. This particular Invader is loaded with factory options: Kahler vibrato, Schaller strap locks, and #3 neck (25-inch fretboard radius, 1 3/4-inch nut width).
