FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

After a 15 year hiatus, Guild reintroduced the F-212XL as part of their Standard series of guitars. The F-212XL Standard followed the basic dimensions of the original F-212XL (1966-85) with a slightly shallower body and less fancy appointments. It has a slimmer neck profile thanks to the single truss instead of the dual truss rods that the original had. In addition, it was revamped with scalloped, red spruce bracing with two tone bars that yields a different sound than the original with its straight bracing and three tone bars. The tonal response is very even which is typical for Guild. It has great note separation and clarity making it a good choice for strumming.
