FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The Comanche VI was developed by Dale Hyatt and Steve
Reed. Leo
Fender had nothing to do with the circuit used in this model, though
the
pickups are the same as used in the Comanche V. According to
G&L
researcher/collector Gabe Dellevigne, the real difference between the
Comanche
V and Comanche VI (other than the pickup selector switching) is that
the
Z-coil MFDs on the VI are combined in parallel while they are wired in
series
on the V. This results in a very real and positive
difference between
the two Comanche models. Although the V is easier to use in live
settings, the VI produces a sweeter and more pleasing tone.
