FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The B-25B was one of the first new all-tube bass amps to be designed after Ampeg was acquired by Unimusic in late 1967. It debuted in 1969 and remained relatively popular until it was discontinued in 1979. At 60 watts with a 2x15” speaker cabinet, the B-25B competed directly with the likes of Sunn’s 200S bass amp, though the Ampeg offered two channels to the single channel Sunn. The amp shown here was made in the Magnavox factory in eastern Tennessee well after Ampeg ceased production at its Linden, New Jersey facility. Ampeg was sold to Magnavox by Unimusic around 1971 and by 1973 all manufacturing had moved to the Magnavox facility.
