FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
Intended for the European market and only made between 1995 and 1996, very few of these exist. The model is defined by a mahogany body with a bound maple top, no pickguard, and rear loaded controls. Usually the top is flame maple though examples with clear maple were made. The top binding is either faux "wood" (an effect created by masking the top's edge during painting) or traditional single-ply white plastic. This model was the basis for the ASAT Special Deluxe model that was introduced in 2001. The guitar shown here is one of two ASAT Customs made specifically for the 1996 Winter NAMM trade show.
