FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
The guitar shown here is a fine example of a later style ASAT.
In late 1987, the ASAT was refined slightly and given a lacquered metal
pickguard, plastic string tree, chrome tuners, and new block style
logo. After the BBE takeover, the ASAT was modified further with the
addition of a satin finish neck and 3-ply plastic pickguard. This
guitar is a very early example of the Signature series ASAT line. Most
of the Signature series G&Ls were offered beginning in 1989 and
they weren’t even listed in the G&L catalog until 1990.
