FACTOIDS & TRIVIA
Introduced in 2002 in both solid and semi-hollow versions, the ASAT Classic Custom is the ultimate hybrid of ASAT and ASAT Classic. It uses the box steel bridge and MFD bridge pickup from the Classic and has an overwound ASAT soapbar MFD in the neck position. The hotter soapbar MFD is killer and the stock Classic neck MFD pales in comparison. This model is by far one of the best ASAT variants currently available from G&L. It has lots of twang and bite from the bridge pickup and unbridled blues tone from the neck pickup. The semi-hollow version with a maple top shown here produces a smoother high end with slightly scooped mids compared to the solid body version, but the maple top retains the snappy pick attack and spank you expect from an ASAT Classic.
