FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

In 2013, the Starfire III was reissued, along with other famous models, as part of Guild’s Newark Street series of electric guitars. The Starfire III was reimagined as a transitional 1964 model with peaked headstock, round pickguard, "anti-hum" pickups (now called LB-1 pickups), and cherry red finish over a laminated sapele body. As with any reissue, there are inaccuracies, e.g. - headstock shape, pickguard, truss rod cover. However, the main visual cues are there. The Starfire shown here was modified slightly with a metal switch tip, Bigsby bridge and clover-leaf button Sta-Tite tuners to make it more vintage accurate and add to its visual appeal.
