FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

The G&L SC-2 was reissued (or more accurately, re-imagined) in 2008 using the original SC-2 Mustang-style body, old style Skyhawk headstock, butterfly string tree, and rear loaded controls w/3-way toggle. The early reissues were only available with a rosewood fingerboard and vibrato tailpiece, but later were available with a maple fingerboard and hardtail. While the original SC guitars and early SC-2 reissue had non-contoured (slab) bodies, the later reissue version has a front arm contour and rear "belly cut". In addition, the MFD pickups are wound hotter than the originals. Interestingly, the pickups in this guitar have resistance measurements more in line with pre-1993 ASAT MFDs which is a good thing (for me!). The SC-2 reissue was discontinued in 2018 as was the use of the Plek machine at G&L.
