FACTOIDS & TRIVIA

This S-500 is unusual because it is a very late first style model. Though the second style S-500 was introduced in 1988, the first style model could still be special ordered through 1991 even though it was gone from the pricelist in 1988. Note that these late first style S-500s use the standard shape G&L headstock rather than the extra large version found on the 1982-83 models.
